OVC to Partner with Game Plan to Enhance Student-Athlete Experience

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – The Ohio Valley Conference has partnered with Game Plan to enhance the league’s student-athlete experience through the platform’s extensive library of eLearning education.

Through this partnership, the conference office and each OVC member institution will utilize Game Plan’s eLearning modules to deliver education to their student-athletes, coaches, and administrators on such topics as mental health, strength and conditioning, NIL, financial literacy, transfer requirements, career preparation, diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, campus sexual violence prevention, and responsible gaming.

“We are excited to partner with a well-known national company to help supplement our schools efforts in providing significant and valued programming for our student-athletes and coaches in a variety of areas.”
OVC Commissioner, Beth DeBauche

The impetus behind the partnership is the NCAA’s Holistic Model for Student-Athletes, adopted by the NCAA Board of Directors, which requires guaranteed enhanced support for current and former college athletes, including expanded campus-level support for mental health services for student-athletes and increased programming in areas such as mental health; diversity, equity, and inclusion; career preparation; and strength and conditioning.

Speaking on the partnership with the Ohio Valey Conference, Ted White, Vice President of Collegiate Partnerships at Game Plan stated, “Commissioner DeBauche and Associate Commissioner Castera have established a model for Division I conferences seeking to add value for their members, create flexibility for each institution, and cut costs significantly.  Student-athletes, coaches, and staff across the OVC will be rewarded as a result of their visionary leadership.”
