Insider Tip: Observe Mental Health Awareness Month with USCAH Courses

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. In observation of this month, we encourage the use of USCAH’s new “Athlete Health Basics” courses on the Game Plan platform. The six new modules are outlined below, and can be found in the Game Plan library.

– Mental Recovery Techniques

– How to be an Advocate for your Healthcare

– Nutrition and Hydration

– Sleep

– Physical Recovery Techniques

– Sportsmanship

Recently, our Head of Curriculum Development, Tayler Onion, sat down with USCAH’s President and CEO, Dr. James Borchers. The conversation resulted in a two-part podcast series where they discussed USCAH’s background and mission, as well as a breakdown of each of the six new courses. Listen to Part 1 and Part 2 below.

In addition to observing Mental Health Awareness Month by assigning these courses out to your athletes, athletes can also view more USCAH content on their own through the Expert Networks feature. Athletic organizations can encourage athletes to explore USCAH’s Insights Channel, which can be found under the “Insights” tab in their mobile app. Through this feature, athletes can complete self-directed learning through courses, videos, podcasts, blogs, and more.
